Neustadt in Sachsen

Neustadt in Sachsen is a wonderful little town in the middle of an attractive landscape between Dresden, the City of Arts, Saxon Switzerland and the Lusatian Highlands. The Neustadt valley is embedded at a height of 300-585 m above sea level, bordering the mountain range of the Hohwald and the Ungerberg. The eight suburbs Berthelsdorf, Krumhermsdorf, Langburkersdorf, Niederottendorf and Oberottendorf, Polenz, Rueckersdorf und Rugiswalde all belong to Neustadt in Sachsen.

The well designed hiking and bike trail network around Neustadt is a paradise for those who love to hike and bike. Or dive into the Mariba holiday world. The modern water park with more than 1300 m² of water surface has attractions for both young and old throughout the year for an exciting vacation.

For history fans a visit to the city museum is always the right choice. In addition to the permanent exhibit about the history of Neustadt as a former Gold rush town there are several interesting special exhibits that take place. Really exciting is the Gold and mineral hands-on exhibit in the suburb Berthelsdorf. The historical municipal building in the centre of town with the Saxon milepost, the castle in the suburb Langburkersdorf, the historical parish and the St. Jacobi Church are just some examples of additional attractions.
